The security team racially discriminated against a member of our staff (in our opinion) . I was told he looked intoxicated because he was wearing sunglasses on a 36c sunny afternoon . The guy in question had not consumed a single drink that day . We pleaded with the door staff but they were too above us to even consider what was being said . When we finally arrived at our reserved table there was a guy sitting there that was so drunk he was blowing bubbles into his pint glass whilst trying to drink . Meanwhile guys that have not been drinking can wait outside and sober up!!This placed is staffed and run by kids , much better places to spend your time and money in Perth . Avoid

Great venue overlooking the river. If you are at the waterfront why wouldn't you visit? Great ambience and if there's live music playing there is really no other place to have a refreshing Pale Ale!

I was very disappointed with my visit to the Lucky Shag. The first thing I noticed was the limited selection of regular beer, most appeared to be craft or boutique beers that I had never heard of, let alone tried. Then my friend and I ordered our meals. These were both burgers under the same table number, but we paid separately. My friends meal was served in about 10 minutes. However, my meal arrived almost 40 minutes later despite ordering it 30 seconds after him. How hard is it? It seems that the Shag does not understand that people like to have their meals together. There is currently a lot of construction going on at properties around the pub, so not the most pleasant for the eyes.Another failing of this pub is to do with the hygiene. Not only did I find the tables sticky, but the upstairs men's toilets had one liquid soap dispenser that was empty and this was around lunch time.Lift your game, even though I may not be back in a hurry you should take care of the customers you do get.

Agree with other reviews that management have no idea what they are doing here. Completely ego driven miserable front door staff member wanting to ruin other peoples time and claiming people who are not intoxicated, are. No clue on customer service or how to do their job. Do not come here unless you want to be told you cant have drinks... for no reason at all. So many better waterfront bars in Perth now theres no need to come here

Great location. That's what the 2 stars are for. But the manager needs to get off their high horse power trip. Just remember YOU are serving customers. She's looks 24 years old with no idea how to run a bar and when things get above her mental capacity just kick everyone out. As I said when you can't communicate with customers you can't just stop serving the customer because you cajt communicate correctly. Maybe a course in customer service and management would be a good start.
