We landed late at night and the person on night duty clearly was put out by having to be there. He didn't give us the information we'd had on previous visits and only spoke when he needed to. We had to find the car ourselves as it wasn't where he said and the car was smaller than booked. The second day into our holiday, I received a message from a person via facebook with the same name as my husband advising he had been sent a copy of our rental contract - this included our home address and the dates we were away. Half hour after hearing this headoffice called asking for our email address but didn't say what they'd done. We had to say we knew what had happened. Even after giving the call centre my email, I still never got the information. The person on duty never asked for our email address and he just looked up my husbands name and picked the wrong profile rather than calling us to get the email address. The person who called from headoffice said they would have someone contact us about it but we have not heard from anyone. They don't seem to understand that our property was at risk while we were away as the person who received the information lived about an hour away from our home. We have hired from Europcar before but won't ever again.
Price is crazy. Insurance more than doubled the cost and still doesn't cover underbody or water damage.Sting you with a $5500 excess if you don't take it.
Landed very late into Perth travelling from the UK and I was a bit flustered trying find all my detail and the 2 staff working that night could not have been more helpful. They were so friendly and patient and even gave me helpful tips about the city. 10/10 thank you hisham & renae :)
They'd got the time and date of my booking right, but it was all downhill from there. The car I booked was selected because I know the way the controls work;I actually got an 'equivalent' car. I couldn't find the parking brake, eventually discovered it was operated by the left foot! I have a weak left leg, so great difficulty operating it. Nobody to ask about the vehicle anywhere. Real difficulty in town! Won't be booking with Europcar anytime soon.
Service at Reception was good. For a prestige hire the vehicle could have been presented a lot cleaner than it was. Be careful if booking through a third party company as they might not give you the most accurate conditions of hire. Overall would go back just because of the great reception staff and manager that soughted all our issues promptly.
