You arrange & pay for "everything" through your travel agent only to find when you get there you are told differently. Firstly they tell you there is no insurance on the car, even though you took out insurance through your travel agent & they are trying to make you pay for insurance on top of that... So you confirm that you do have insurance, and then they tell you the cover you have means in any claim you will have to pay an excess of $4,800.. Yes $4,800!!! May as well buy a new car lol. Then you are told to take out excess cover through them, the cost they tell you is $34 per day... So you sign the paperwork, and then once you return the vehicle (6 days later), you see all these admin charges on your bill and a charge including additional "airport tax' of 27%.. Another nice surprise.. On top of that, you pay for a nice new SUV, they don't give you the one you ordered as they only have this old Toyota SUV with no navigator,.. So here you are in a city you've never been before trying to get around without a navigator.
Absolutely fantastic service. Easy pickup from Perth airport and drop off even better. Bright friendly and helpful staff. They took away all the stress during our travels.
I used to use Hertz quite often, but after being overcharged on several occasions by the Perth airport branch, I refuse to use or recommend the service. I was overcharged for returning a car a few days earlier than booked to the tune of over a thousand dollars more than the cost of the booking. This was rectified but only after several phone calls. Also charged several returns for fuel after having filled the car within 2km of the Airport. I had these also reversed but not until I was forced to email photos of fuel receipts and refund was not provided for over a week on every occasion. This would not normally be a problem but it was every hire from Perth before I cancelled my membership.
Hired a small car when mine was in the shop because I was trying to reduce the costs. I thought I would have to miss out on work because I couldn't load in tools. BUT I got there and like magic they upgraded my car when I was talking to the staff about my dilemma!!! No extra charge!!! I would recommend these guys to anyone. Its hard to find people who actually care about hardship. Great Surprise. Thank you Hertz!!
